Tigers sign to Oregon schools

Nathan Mallory and Ashley Davis continue playing their sports in college

On Friday April 6, seniors Ashley Davis and Nathan Mallory signed letters of intent. Softball player Davis plans to attend George Fox in Newberg. Golfer Mallory plans to attend Northwest Christian University in Eugene.

Davis thought it was exciting and special that people came to see her sign her letter. She really appreciated the nice things her club coach said about her. She attributed her success to her parent and coaches over the years.

Next year she will be juggling school, sport and a job. Will it be difficult? “Time management will be huge,” she said; however, she is looking forward to the future.

Mallory is excited about playing golf in college, but he has fond memories of high school golf. He will remember going with the team to Tokatee Golf Club and staying overnight, and individually he will remember coming in second place in the Tournament of Champions after winning a summer tournament to qualify.

Additionally, he won’t forget one of his big influences, senior Victoria Gailey. “I’ve always wanted to beat her day in and day out. Because of how [good] of a player she was, she pushed me to do better as well,” Mallory said. Gailey signed to play at University of Reno earlier in the year.

Mallory looks forward to heading to school at NCU in the fall and plans to major in business.
