Tigard High’s varsity boys basketball team went head to head with Newberg on Friday, Feb. 8 in the THS main gym. Both teams had high energy and had crisp passes. The first quarter was evenly matched, with Tigard starting out with a fast pace. At the end of the first quarter, Tigard was ahead 16-8. Newberg continued to put pressure on our defense, and at the end of the half the score was 33-20 with Tigard still in the lead. After the half, both teams picked up their speed and energy in order to win. Tigard fans made sure to cheer for their team which helped raise the intensity. Newberg put up a good fight but it was Tigard that pulled out another win with the ending score 69-46.
