Girls golf taking first swing tonight

The ladies are taking their first swing tonight, March 12 at the Tualatin Country Club, where Varsity will have their first invitational. This comes after only two weeks of practice at four different locations, such as Tualatin Country Club, King City Golf Course, Summerfield Golf Course and the Tualatin Island Greens.

This invitational will be an 18 hole course, which will take four hours to play.

“It’s going to be an exciting year!”, said coach Julie Carlsen.

There will be many team going to this invitational; including Glencoe, Tualatin, Hill, Mcminnville, Newburg, Century, and other high schools in our league.

“So many new golfers learning to play!” said Carlsen.

This year there are 14 players on the team, with some returning and some just beginning. Varsity will have four or five girls playing at the invitational, some of them playing their very first game.
