In the battle against Grant High School, Tigard came out on top 49-24.
The game started off slow, but picked up towards the end of the first quarter when senior Brandon Wick intercepted the ball. At the end of the first quarter with the score of 0-0, the Tigers were about to score. Junior Zach Floyd scored to move the game up to 7-0 and junior Kaz Greene scored to make it 14-0. Junior Sam Stelk recovered a fumble and after a few more plays, the junior scored. Senior Brandon Wick had another interception, but didn’t have enough time to score.
At halftime, the score was 21-3. The Tigers kept playing strong with another interception from junior Anthony Consolo and junior Benny Wick turned it around for a touchdown. Senior Nolan Friesen recovered a fumble and junior Zach Floyd scored once again.
At the end of the third quarter, the score was 35-17. With two more touchdowns from juniors Benny Wick and Zach Floyd, the Tigers were winning 49-24. Junior Consolo stripped the ball with a recovery by junior Chance Taylor.
The final score was 49-24 with the Tigers coming out with their second win of the season.
