The lingo of CDL (continued distance learning)
“I am going to present my tab for the SEL lesson in Nearpod! Tell me if I am on mute, and please type your answers in the chat if your cameras are not on since you only woke up five minutes ago.”
Since this past fall, all of our lives changed when our new school year had evolved into CDL or continual distance learning, due to Covid 19. New words, websites, and technologies were shoved into our brains to prepare us for a year like never before. We became accustomed to a new vocabulary, and how we communicated with our teachers and classmates. We had the option to show our faces and if we wanted to speak, type, or none of the above. Somehow the things we wanted to stay familiar became distant, just like this new learning plan
