Leadership welcomed back the student body with an exciting and interactive “Back to School” Assembly on Sept. 9. The assembly was full of performances and a sneak peek at Tigard’s leadership team.

ASB Assemblies leader, Megan Priaulx and her committee organized the assembly to bring the student body together. Priaulx had a blast helping with the assembly. “My favorite part was when everyone stood up and sang the fight song. It was really good to get a sense of community going,” Priaulx said.

Students joined together to sing the fight song, and did some football cheers as well. The Tigerettes performed and Emily Schneider sang “We’re Going to Be Friends.” Leadership created a “welcome back” video that caught the school up on current events and upcoming activities around the school.

Students found the assembly helpful and welcoming. “I was really impressed with the energy and how excited everyone was to be back,” junior Kyra Medgin said. “I think it was a good way to get everyone back into the flow of things, and an amazing way to make the freshman feel like they’re welcome here at Tigard High School.”

“The assembly was a good way to welcome everyone back and get everyone used to being back and being comfortable in the community that we have here,” Priaulx said.
