As the winter weather makes it’s way out and starts to welcome spring, what better way to express the changing season than on your nails? The conclusion of New York Fashion Week always brings new colors and trends for manicures. Here are the tops tricks and trends to help you celebrate the season and spread joy just by showing off your hands.

1. 3D Nails

Bored with a simple colored manicure? Make your nails pop by adding a textured polish. Most major nail brands are starting to sell cool polishes like the “fuzzy coat” from Sally Hansen or the “encrusted” line from Essie. Basically, the polish is clear with a bunch of different pieces of glitter, fuzz, or confetti that really make your nails pop. Do a full set or pair one fuzzy nail with a regular manicure for a fun statement look. For the best looking finish, do not use a top coat with textured nail polishes.

2. Au Naturel

Embrace nature and the cleanliness of spring by forgoing color and going with a clean nail look. However, this look still requires maintenance! Start by buffing and shaping your nail- no ragged cuticles allowed! Then either paint your nail with a simple nude polish or a clear top coat.

3. Ombre Effect

This trend isn’t just for hair! To give your nails a pretty gradient look, you’ll need three colors that go from dark to light and a makeup sponge. Simply stripe the colors on the sponge in the order you want and stipple it on to your nail. Clean up the edges with nail polish remover on a q-tip, add a top coat, and you’re good to go.

4. Moon Mani

As the days get longer, keep the moon out as well by bringing the look to your nails! Paint your nails one color and then place half of a hole perforator or tape over the bottom or the top part of your nails. Then paint over the uncovered nail with a different color and peel the tape off to reveal your pretty and polished look.

5. Metallic

Who says your jewelry has to be the only thing that sparkles about your look? Match your nails to your necklace, earrings, and bracelets by picking up a polish in a gold, silver, or copper hue. It’s a simple way to add elegance and “that extra pop” to your look.
