Despite its planners originally expecting to raise very little money or food for the community, the THS theater department’s haunted house filled two barrels of food donations for Packed with Pride and approximately $1,000 in profit.
The fundraiser opened up on Fri., Oct. 25 and ran through Fri., Oct. 31 in the old cafeteria near the staff parking lot.
Students in the technical theater class worked throughout the month of Oct. designing, building, and decorating five different rooms, with themes ranging from a creepy jail to an abandoned Victorian living room.
“It was a challenge trying to find ways to work with what we had, a budget, and with other
schools to get resources for it all while making it look presentable,” said Mariyah Fulgar-Leon, senior.
Despite the challenges, the theater crew successfully entertained and provided food for the community this fall.
