One out of seven people entering a hospital in the United States require a blood transfusion. However, only around three percent of the U.S. population currently donates blood out of their kind soul. Thanks to these donors, 43,000 pints of donated blood are used each day in North America.
Want to save a life? Come donate blood today in the small gym! The National Honor Society is running a blood drive starting at 8am to 1pm. Students age 16 or older can sign up. However, parent approval is needed if under the age of 16. If you haven’t signed up already, come see Mr. Caro tomorrow in room 209.
“It may not seem like such a big act, but donating blood saves lives,” explained senior NHS member Emily Nguyen, “It’s important to be aware of other patients who need what we take for granted.”
