The Tigard boys basketball team has successfully played a 18-6  record so far this season. They ended their conference play with a record of 13-1 and won a Pacific Conference Title. The Tigard boys only loss was to McMinnville. They are currently ranked number 10 in the O.S.A.A. standings and have secured home court advantage for the first 2 rounds of playoffs by placing in the top 8 spots.

The team will begin  their first round of playoffs tomorrow, March 3, with a match up against Westview High School.

The Girls basketball team has also been playing a successful season. Seniorr guards Emilee Cincotta and Lexi Carter have helped their team tremendously. Carter is averaging a team-high 15.5 points per game.

Head coach Steve Naylor is very happy with the girls’ efforts. “Emilee gets those tips, and Lexi picks up the ball, and Lexi is pretty darn good in the open court,” said Naylor.  “So it’s a great combo. It goes the other way, too. Lexi gets some tips.”

Tigard has given up an average of 38.3 points per game, tied for second best in the 6A division. They play a 2-3 zone, and with Cincotta and Carter at the top, its pretty hard to score. The team is 14-0 in league, and 20-5 overall.

Tonight, the girls team produced a 49-19 win against McNary in the first round of playoffs. They will host Jesuit on Friday night.
