It was a proud moment for senior Alexis Carter who signed on to Clemson University in South Carolina to play basketball on Monday, Nov. 18. The signing took place during second lunch in the small gym where many people came to support Carter for her accomplishment.
“I visited Clemson in September and it was just a great fit for me. They offered me the spot when I got there and I knew right away it was the school for me,” said Carter.
At the signing, athletic director Alan Boschma, her dad, and all of her past coaches took turns giving brief speeches about Carter and her performance at Tigard.
“It was the best feeling in the world to have all of my family and past coaches talk about our experiences with each other. It was great to know that all of my sacrifices over the years and hard work finally paid off,” said Carter.
Carter has played basketball since she was four years old and looks forward to playing the sport she loves at Clemson.
“I’m definitely going to miss having a hometown crowd and not having my parents in the stands for every game like at Tigard,” said Carter.

We are huge fans of Clemson University, Wayne Gallman, Lexi Carter and now the New York Giants. You all are a beautiful couple and belong together. That’s why God moved you from different areas of the USA to Clemson. Stay true to each other and always put God in front at all times. Time and space cannot seperate real love nor allow you to cheat! ” Just Represent ”
You all have beautiful and loving families. I follow both of you in football and basketball. You are really good with your crafts.
