Tigard High’s varsity girls soccer team battled it out on the field against Sherwood on Thursday, Sept. 26 at THS. Both teams started out strong with great ball movement and speed. Tigard was on a roll with their quick passes and positive attitude, that they seemed unstoppable. Sophomore Natalie Bryant was the first to score during the game, which only made Sherwood kick up their intensity. Tigard’s forwards kept up with the speed and had many great combinations that pushed Sherwood back. Just when Tigard had the lead, Sherwood tied the game 1-1 off of a free kick outside of the box.
“We had great movement, but lacked a certain level of urgency,” said senior Erin Graham.
Tigard had started their season off strong with win after win, but the game ended in a tie; making it Tigard’s first tie of the season. Overall both teams put up a good fight and Tigard will surely come back next week.
