Tigard High School’s varsity boys basketball team had an intense match against their special guests all the way from Australia on Wednesday, Dec. 12 in the THS large gym. Head coach Shawn Alderman knew the Australian Pirates coach and chose them to come visit the school and play in a game against our Tigard Tigers.
“It was nice to see Tigard play a team from a different country and it was a really fun game to watch,” stated junior Heidi Lee.
The game was a pretty even match for the first half but Tigard ended the half ahead 39-27. In the 3rd quarter both teams pushed even harder, but it was clear that Tigard came to play. Tigard still ahead going into the 4th quarter leading 56-33. Both teams played with intensity but it was Tigard who pulled out the victory with an ending score of 79-44.
