Tigard High’s varsity girls soccer team took on Lakeridge during the semifinals on Saturday, Nov. 9th at the THS soccer field. Both teams bundled up on this cold night and came out with the fire to win.
The first half was played evenly on both sides of the field and both teams had about the same amount of shots on goal. Tigard kept up with the speed and played their usual pass and go game. At the end of the first half the score was tied 0-0.
Both teams picked up their energy in the second half. Lakeridge scored first near the middle of the second half, but that didn’t stop Tigard. Junior Emilee Cincotta scored shortly after Lakeridge leaving tied 1-1 with about 15 minutes to go. Both teams felt the pressure as the clock ran down, but it was Lakeridge who scored near the end of the second half. Tigard kicked up the pressure on Lakeridge but was unable to score which ended in a loss for Tigard 2-1.
