With a final score of 25 to 22 in the last game, varsity volleyball beat Forest grove with a total of 3 wins and 0 losses earlier tonight.
“I think we’re going to beat them,” stated head coach Rob Coelho before the game. “I expect them to beat them tonight.” With that being said, his expectations were met with a great match. The varsity volleyball girls show that hard work does pay off.
“I think we could’ve done better,” freshman Jenna Horton said after the game. “We could have talked more and should have let those balls drop even though we won.” They did let a few balls drop but in the end they won because they played great defense.
With a hurt ankle, senior Valarie Hughes toughed it out through the game getting some great hits. After sitting out for a short time, Hughes came back in and played as she normally does. Along with a minor ankle injury there is a hurt foot. Senior Cassidy Freeman wasn’t able to play tonight.
The varsity team currently has freshmen, juniors and seniors all working together to beat the other team. The season is coming to an end with just playoffs left. For some of the girls it’s their last year and they played a great season with only four losses of 22 games played. Wish the girls luck at playoffs and hope to end the season on a good note.
