Tigard High’s varsity volleyball team had their last home game of the season on Thursday, Oct. 18, and it was also Senior Night for the volleyball players.

The night began with seniors Cassidy Freeman, Valerie Hughes, Meeka Mayhew, and Lauren Becker being introduced to the audience along with their parents, and each were given a bouquet of flowers.

The Tigers ended the night with a win over Newberg, winning all three games of the night. The fans once again went wild in the stands for Michelle “The Wall” Simmons, and even made a clever cheer for her.

The volleyball team has their next game on Tuesday, Oct. 23, and after that playoffs will begin for the Tigers on Wednesday, Oct. 31. Coach Rob Coelho says that the team seems to have a good chance at playoffs, although there will be some tough opponents.
