After a long day of competition the Tigerettes took home another 1st place trophy on Saturday Feb. 18. The competition took place at Parkrose High School, where 24 teams competed. Tigerettes coach David McCall was hoping to improve their SQS (state qualifying score) to a 75 but the team surprised him by receiving a 78.
There was only one other team competing in the 6A large division at Parkrose, former rival Lincoln High School. In the past, the Lincoln Cardinals dance team surprised their crowd with outstanding projection, naturally the Tigerettes were intimidated and up-ed their game to score an 87 in projection.
Tualatin’s team, Modaz, also placed 1st in the 5A/6A small division.
