The Tigard Tigerettes hosted their yearly dance/drill competition this past Sat. at Tigard High School. Fourteen school teams competed, performing their state routine that still have work to do: Pendleton, Sheldon, Tualatin, Wilson, Newberg, Sherwood, Wilsonville, Milwaukie, Cleveland, Westview, Thurston, Lake Oswego, Centennial, and Century. Pendleton’s Rhythmic Mode competed hard, winning 1st place in the large division with an SQS of 79.5. Lake Oswego also won in the small division with an oustanding performance and Sheldon, being the only show division team, performed their state routine of “Atlantis”.
The turn out seemed to be better than last year’s competition. Also, the University of Oregon cheer/dance team performed during the end of the first round and Portland State University’s dance team performed as well during the end of the second round. Both teams also had Tigard alumni; one from University of Oregon and two from Portland State University.
