The 2011-2012 Tigard High Swim season has just begun and the pool is packed.

“This is the biggest Tigard High swim team I have seen for a while,” said head coach John Ruzicka.

Most of the new members consist of freshmen, but there are also a few sophomores, juniors and seniors thrown in to the mix. Swimmers to watch this year are seniors Mckenzie Smith and Tess Langseth. Smith will be competing in the 500 freestyle and the 200 I.M. and Langseth will be competing in the 200 I.M. and the 100 breaststroke. Last year, Smith and Langseth both qualified for the state meet.

The first swim meet will be held Tuesday, Dec. 6 at Hillsboro High School. The meet will begin at 4pm. If you are still interested in joining the swim team you can still sign up in the athletic office. If you have any questions contact coach John Ruzicka.
