The new scoreboard, the class gift from 2011, is finally ready after a week delay in time for the first football playoff game tonight at 7 p.m.. Construction was stopped Oct. 27 on Thursday morning after the school failed to get inspections of the foundation before pouring the concrete.
“What happened is that the guy from the city failed to show up and we already had the concrete ready and couldn’t let it harden,” says football coach Stace Shilito.
The city attached a Stop Work Order to the scoreboard but the problem was quickly resolved when the school supplied the city with pictures of the foundation before the concrete was poured.
Final touches were made yesterday, Nov. 10, in time for the game tonight. Many students are excited about having a brand new scoreboard which is giving Tigard football fans more reason to be excited for tonight’s game.
When asked about the scoreboard, senior Kaitlyn Yarnell said enthusiastically, “It’s huge and I can’t wait to see it in action.”
