Tigard ran its last race for the 2011 season on Oct. 27 at the Pacific Conference Districts at Clackamas Community College.
The varstiy boys came in third place with 83 points behind Forest Grove in first, 42 points; Tualatin in second, 73 points. Junior John Walker came in ninth with a season personal record of 16:52. Senior Scott Rice came in 11th with a career personal record of 16:55. Senior Mackenzie Smith took third in the junior varsity race, earning himself a ribbon with a career personal record of 17:39.
The varsity girls’ came in fourth overall with 84 points behind Forest Grove in first, 45 points; Newburg, 63 points; and Tualatin, 67 points. Freshman Ellie Dean came in ninth with a season PR of 20:30. Senior Emily Walch came in 11th with a career PR of 20:40.
Coach Joel Sauvain was awarded Coach of the Year, which is the second year in a row for Tigard cross country. The year before Coach Denise Foote received that award when coaching cross country.
