The cross country Century invite on Oct. 12 was a sure victory for both varsity teams.

Boys JV swept the race. Then the varsity boys took places one and two with senior Scott Rice and junior Matt Carlson. Junior John Walker came in fourth and freshman John Caufield took fifth.

Freshman Ellie Dean, senior Emily Walch and freshman Hannaly McGaughey took places one through three in the varsity girls’ race.

There was some confusion on the girls’ because the race ran both the varsity and the JV girls together, but our Tigard girls didn’t know that the races were changed so they ran their own heat.

The next cross country race is the season’s last home meet against Newburg on Oct. 19 at 4:30 p.m..
