On Sept. 28 Tigard’s cross country team ran against the Forest Grove Vikings on our home turf.

Tyler Shipley of Forest Grove took the lead with senior Scott Rice in second for the boys varsity team, then junior Matt Carlsen came in right after. Junior John Walker came in with a Viking to make his last 100 meters the most exciting.

Freshman Hannaly McGaughey did work coming in as the third Tigard varsity girl after senior Emily Walch and junior Katie Harbolt. For the JV girls, Andrea Patru came in first.

The boys beat Forest Grove by one point, but the girls lost to the Vikings. The next meet is at Glencoe High School in Hillsboro Oct. 12.
