The Tigard High School varsity football team brings in another win tonight with 42-20 against Century High School, putting the team at a 3-0 overall. Ahead by at least double, the Tigers gave it their all tonight, showing that hard work will pay off.
At kickoff, junior Benny Wick received the ball and made a 20 yard run. After a fumble, Century was able to recover the ball for a moment before an interception by senior Sean McGetrick, followed by a 23 yard dash. The first touchdown of the night was scored by junior Anthony Consolo with a precise pass from junior quarterback Sam Stelk. To finish off the move, the extra point, field goal was made my senior Travis Hale.
After a close touchdown for Century, Tigard had a turn over and junior Kaz Greene was able to make a 40 yard run and touchdown. Another touchdown was scored by senior Brandon Wick, bringing the score of the first half to 21-6. Then, brothers Brandon and Benny Wick worked together to score yet another touchdown for Tigard. Junior Zach Floyd brought the score to 35-6 at the beginning of the fourth quarter with a touchdown.
The final touchdown of the night was scored by junior Chance Taylor bringing the score to 42-12. Century feeling the pressure scored only one more touchdown for the night with the game ending in a score of 42-20. The entire team showed great dedication and support for one another as they worked their way to another successful win this evening.
