The Emmys is TV’s biggest night and a chance for stars to show off their classic styles or try a bold new trend. While there were many stunning gowns and well made tuxedos at this year’s event, there’s always that inevitable group of actors and actresses that just don’t quite make it work. Here’s the best and worst dressed stars at the Emmys 2013.
Giuliana Rancic- E! News anchor
Actresses weren’t the only ones showing off on the red carpet Sunday night. E! News host and reality TV star Giuliana Rancic looked stunning in a blue embellished Mikael D dress with a dramatic mermaid train. She also wowed viewers watching her interview stars on E! with an 18 karat million dollar ring from Forevermark that required a body guard all night. Rancic always looks just as fabulous as the stars she interviews and never fails to make a statement.
Jim Parsons- actor on Big Bang Theory
Jim Parson showed that being funny isn’t the only thing he excels at- he’s stylish too. Parsons looked dapper in a Z Zegna suit while winning his third Emmy for his role of Sheldon on Big Bang Theory. As a thinner man, Parsons made sure his suit was immaculately fitted to his lean frame and added a touch of his personality by wearing a bow tie instead of a more subdued tie.
Rose Byrne- actress from Bridesmaids
Rose Byrne looked gorgeous in a pale pink crop top and maxi skirt look by designer Calvin Klein. Light pink gowns were a big trend this year at the Emmys and Byrne had one of the best. Although this is a more subdued look for the red carpet, the fit and color of it was impeccable and shows off how amazing her body is.
Zosia Mamet- actress on Girls
Although the TV show Girls was nominated for numerous awards, the leading actress Zosia Mamet won’t be taking home any accolades for style this year. The Honor dress that was custom designed for her would have been a hit if not for the tacky bib that covers up the simple yet elegant neckline. Who knows? Maybe she spilled something before hitting the red carpet and needed a quick cover up.
Paula Abdul- former judge on American Idol and The X Factor
Maybe Paula Abdul didn’t get the memo that you’re supposed to win an Emmy, not dress like one. The star showed up in a head to toe gold dress that did nothing for her figure. But hey, you have to give her point for perfectly matching the dress color to the label on the Chanel clutch she carried.
As TV shows start to come back on with their new fall seasons and premieres, hopefully some of these stars will prove they’re better actors than stylists. Comment below with your favorite Emmy hits and misses!
