The crowd applauded as Tina Fey and Amy Poehler walked onto the stage to host the 2014 Golden Globes. On Sunday night, there were a total of 19 actors and actresses and 7 movies and T.V. shows that won a Golden Globe.
One of the winning movies was “American Hustle.” It won for best motion picture, comedy or musical. Amy Adams from “American Hustle” won best actress in a motion picture, musical or comedy, and Jennifer Lawrence, was awarded best supporting actress in a motion picture. Several other actors from “American Hustle” were nominated for a Golden Globe.
Another movie that took home the Globe for best motion picture, drama was “12 years a Slave.” Another drama that had a couple of actors that won was “Dallas Buyers Club” with Matthew McConaughey winning best actor and Jared Leto winning best supporting actor.
As for T.V. shows, “Breaking Bad” got the award for best dramatic T.V. series and the best actor in a T.V. series was Bryan Cranston, the star of “Breaking Bad.”
Some other awards received were best screenplay won by Spike Jonze for the movie “Her,” Best actor in a motion picture went to Leonardo DiCaprio for his performance in “The Wolf of Wall Street,” and “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” won the award for best T.V. series, comedy or musical. The original song, “Let it Go” from the movie, “Frozen” lost to “Ordinary Love” by U2 and Danger Mouse but the movie won best animated film. One of the biggest surprises of the night was when co-host Amy Poehler won the Globe for best actress in a T.V. series, musical or comedy for her role in “Parks and Recreation.”
