For the past four weeks, students have been waiting anxiously for the announcement of the new grading system website to be released. Finally after a long period of waiting, Synergy is finally ready.
The Tigard-Tualatin school district put into affect Synergy, created by a company called Edupoint, as the district’s new student information and grading system (SIS), replacing eSIS. Just yesterday was it announced that Synergy would be the new grading system. Now, students and parents will have access to view student progress and other information. Synergy’s module for parents and students is called “ParentVue” and “StudentVue”, replacing eSIS’ Parent/Student Assistant.
To check your grades go to this website: https://sis.cascadetech.org/ttsd23j/login_pxp.aspx. Student usernames remain the same (graduation year + last name + first initial = ex. 14johnd), however passwords are not. Student passwords will be their first name initial in capital letters followed by the student ID number then followed by their last name initial lowercased. For example, John Doe’s student ID number is 123456 and his password would be D123456j.
There has been mixed feelings towards the new grading system. Some students can’t access their Synergy account at all. One student that is having trouble with her account is senior Camille Petitjean.
Petitjean stated, “I think it was a waste of time and money. eSIS was perfectly fine and very easy to use. Synergy already has complications by not allowing some of us to login yet, which is a nuisance for me since I like knowing my grades.”
Junior Brooke Rayfield also criticized Synergy saying, “I want eSIS back. Synergy is complicated and it took [the school district] a ‘thousand years’ to get working.”
