Tigard Key Club volunteered at the non-profit organization Oregon Food Bank to help the fight against hunger on Saturday, Nov. 3rd. The Oregon Food Bank sends food to other organizations such as Meals on Wheels and St. Matthew’s Church.
Key Club members carpooled to the Food Bank and volunteered by weighing, bagging and boxing frozen peas for about three hours. The Tigard students bagged 6918 pounds of peas today, which could make 5321 meals for the hungry. Jay Leet, adviser, says he is very proud of the amount of effort Key Club members put into their volunteer work. Freshman Sage Wegehaupt says, “Volunteering was a lot of fun and I love being in Key Club.”
