Portland is famous for its people, culture and most of all: art. When all of us living in the suburbs want to see fine arts, the first thing we think of is a long cold bus ride downtown or the good old fashioned world-wide-web.
Fortunately for us, our very own Alberta Rider Elementary School is hosting an Art Show smack-dab in the middle of suburbia. Art in the Burbs will be held at Alberta Rider Elementary School on Friday, Oct. 21 from 6-9 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 22 from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 23 from 11 a.m.-4 p.m..
This fine art gallery will feature art from over 80 local artists and even some students. The art will include cards, clay, garden art, glass, hanging art, jewelry, textiles and wood. 20% of the proceeds from the art sold will be donated to the Tigard/Tualatin School Districts Art Department.
The suggested donation is a mere $1, but the event is free! Great music will be performed by local student musicians while you enjoy your mocktails and snacks. Support your local artists at this great charitable event.
