Every year, Tigard High School welcomes students from all around the world. They come from tons of different places to learn about American culture and schooling. But, have you ever thought of going to visit their schools?
The Rotary Club of Tigard is getting ready to take a look at our students and see which ones are applicable to study abroad as exchange students. If a student is interested they must apply and go through a selection process. From there, they are told which countries are available and best suited for them.
The first Rotary Club meeting is being held on Sept 22 at 7 p.m. in the school library. The Rotary Club is here to help students find the right exchange program for them, whether it’s helping get clean water in The Philippines or experiencing day to day life for a teen in France.
“This is an awesome program. Students end up all over the place!” said language teacher Julie Carlsen.
Who knows? Maybe you’ll be the next to study abroad.
