Today Principal Mark Neffendorf addressed each class separately in the Auditorium to give his traditional class meetings. His main point was to explain to the students that harassment of any kind will not be tolerated, but also included a few jokes to lighten the mood.
Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors were given a gentle reminder about last year’s Welcome Back Assembly.
Neffendorf said that upperclassmen should attempt to make the freshmen feel more “welcome”. To the Sophomores, he said they shouldn’t boo the new freshmen just because they were booed last year.
He informed students that research shows that a high school diploma is no longer good enough to get a job that pays above the poverty line.
Sophomore Ian Snyder says, “I think that what Mr. Neffendorf said was a good motivation to go to a 4 year college and get a good education.”
