As students enter Tigard High on the first day, they will notice a change outside of the big gym: The old trophy cases, rusty and unorganized, are going through a renovation.
Is the district really spending money on trophy cases instead of lending some of the budget to the programs that will be cut this year?
Well, no. The Athletics Department is taking money out of its budget to pay for it. Principal Mark Neffendorf and Athletics Director Alan Boschma authorized this project and the district has nothing to do with it.
The price and time of completion of the project is still in the air.
