March 17, 2014
After leading the Tigard boys basketball team to the second round of playoffs, senior Bryan Berg was named the Pacific Conference Player of the Year. This title is awarded to players who are not only a skilled player but also a team leader. Berg is the third consecutive boy from Tigard to be named Player of the Year.
Berg has been playing basketball since he was only five years old. He ended his high school career with coach Shawn Alderman and his teammates in the 6A playoffs.
“Coach Alderman has made a huge impact on not only my basketball career but on life events,” said Berg. “He gives a lot of support.”
Although the end of the road came for the team during the second round of playoffs, Berg and his teammates remains close with each other until the end.
“It was easy to play with such a great group of guys because everyone was so close,” said Berg. “There was never a dull moment. This was easily the best season of my basketball career and it will be one to remember.”
Multiple colleges are currently pursuing Berg, but he remains undecided on what school he will attend.
