This fall, TTSD changed their college and career readiness program from Naviance to SchooLinks. Students use this program to apply for colleges, explore post-graduation pathways, and access scholarship opportunities.
“We explored a variety of options, running focus groups with students, counselors, and teachers. Of the options, SchooLinks was the one that rose to the top in terms of functionality and engagement,” said Chris Lieuallen, TOSA for K-12 support at both Tualatin and Tigard.
According to Lieuallen, The Northwest Regional Education Service District offered to foot the bill if they switched to SchooLinks, saving the district $50,000 a year.
“We are [currently] developing lesson plans with slides to help teachers, guardians and students learn how to use SchooLinks,” said College and Career Center coordinator, Jessi Podd.
Students are able to access SchooLinks through their Clever accounts on their Chromebooks.
