Update: On Sept. 15, Coach Crist wrote in a staff-wide email that he was doing well and available to cover classes in the case of teacher absences. He thanked everyone for all the support and well wishes.
Tigard’s head football coach, Todd Crist, had a medical emergency on the sidelines during the second half of the varsity football game versus Sunset High School on Sept. 5.
After Crist was taken off the field in an ambulance, the game continued.
“Once we figured out [Coach Crist] was okay and taken care of, we thought we needed to win the game for Coach Crist. I know that all of our players gave everything that they got for the game and we ended it how we wanted to,” said varsity football captain and offensive center Ryan Weigel, senior.
