Jason Ashley, current counselor at THS, will be stepping into his new role as athletic director for the 2025-2026 school year. 

“Sports are just something that I’ve always been involved with and something I’ve always been passionate about. I started coaching when I was in high school. I worked at some camps and then I’ve coached girls basketball, boys basketball, volleyball, softball, and baseball. Yeah, so I’ve coached a number of different sports,” Ashley said. 

With his experience as a coach as well as his years of counseling students, Ashley was a natural fit for the position when it opened up in April. 

“I’m just excited to kind of do something different here to try to help Tigard move forward and just kind of give back. So I’m at the stage in my career, where I’m really looking forward to leading the athletic department and helping with athletics,” Ashley said. 

Ryan Taylor, THS’s current athletic director who has worked in that position for the past three years, has taken a new position in another state.
