Girl’s tennis

Tigard tennis is really stepping up its game this year and trying to reach new limits and change how the community views the tennis team.

“I’ve never been on a team before but I’m enjoying it a lot! I’ve learned and improved a lot. The coaches are great and I love all my teammates,” said senior Zoe Vidovich about her first year on the JV team.

The tennis season has just started and they’re already reaching new records. “Yesterday [April 6] we played against one of our biggest rivals, Tualatin, and we beat them for the first time in 20 years!” said Vidovich.

Tennis is a pretty challenging sport physically and mentally but can also be very

rewarding. “Tennis helps with my physical health and gets me moving. It also helps me mentally because I’ve met a lot of great people and friends; it’s also helped me get out of my comfort zone,” said Vidovich.

Vidovich thinks the tennis team could use more support. “There isn’t much of a crowd at the tennis matches, so having as much support would be great. The matches might go for a long time but they’re really interesting and intense,” said Vidovich.

Their next match is at home against Canby on Monday, April 18.  Come support them.
