Tigard Dance proves to be an all around force in the dance community by bringing home 5 trophies this weekend. Protégé, Tigard’s junior varsity dance team contributed to this by taking home two wins at Wilsonville High School, both first place trophies.

The team competed in the JV jazz division to the song “Lights” by Ellie Goulding and in the JV pom division to a rendition of The Kinks’ “You Really Got Me”. Protégé practices on Mondays and Wednesdays and has been working hard to live up to the standards of Tigard Dance.

“I feel like we did really well in pom, our projection was great!” said freshman Mariza Rayfield. “We weren’t so sure about jazz, it was good but some parts weren’t as clean as they could’ve been.  I was surprised when we won, but also happy and proud and our coaches were crying and screaming with excitement after awards.”
