Seniors will be kicking off a new tradition: the Grad Walk. After the Senior Awards Assembly on June 6, the class of 2019 will be bussed to Tigard’s feeder elementary and middle schools: Durham, Templeton, Mary Woodward, Metzger, CFT, Twality and Fowler.

The Tigard Tualatin school district has decided to close school this Wednesday, May 8, in anticipation of the teacher walkouts planned statewide.

Tori Lopez, Rose Festival Princess, celebrates her last day of high school

 Maria (Tori) Lopez, class of 2019 was announced as a Rose Festival princess. She has been heavily involved with Tigard High School, and is a member of Sparrow club, Speech and Debate, National Honor Society, and many more clubs and organizations. She is an amazing student as well. But with the Rose Festival coming up, Lopez gets out of school early–today in fact.

Finance Fest a success

Business teacher Sue Suttich, in collaboration with FinMango, held Tigard High’s first “Finance Fest” last Thursday. The three-hour event was open to all and comprised of various informational sessions which promoted an understanding of personal finance and investing.

April 18 through April 20, the speech and debate state qualifiers started their journey for state at 5:30 a.m. in the Tigard high school parking lot, where they headed towards Western Oregon University.
